I had a fantastic experience working with Matt and Shelly, with The McGill Team. Not only were they incredibly professional and knowledgeable, but they also only charged a 1% commission—compared to the typical 2.5–3.5% agent fee—which saved me over $10,000!

Matt and Shelly went way beyond our expectations in helping us sell our Folsom house while we were living in Florida. Initially, they provided excellent guidance on how to approach the sale given that we were remote and would require an estate sale for much of the house content. Following their advice, we were able to go from our contract with Matt / Shelly to closing on the sale in about 6 weeks. They took the lead in working with the buyers and title company, coordinating multiple offer/counter offers, as well as assisting with multiple vendors to prepare for the sale. Nothing was too small for them to handle on our behalf and their communication of updates was excellent despite being remote. We really appreciate the years of experience they brought to our contract negotiations and strongly recommend their services to anyone selling their home.

Shelly and Matt helped me sell my my sister’s home, where she had resided for over 30 years. She was no longer able to live by herself and I was her closest relative, living in a different state. The McGill Team guided us smoothly through the sale of our home and purchase of a replacement home in a changing, uncertain market. While we were still looking, Shelly had us prepare for sale by doing preinspections and taking care of as many items as possible. Knowing all issues up front allowed her to price the house properly. We found a replacement home but needed to sell ours first. The team negotiated a contingency sale. They put our house on the market a day earlier than planned. The professional photographer showed the house at its best, which attracted a lot of attention. There were multiple showings and offers within the first few days; there was no need to hold an open house. The timing was a bit tricky, but we were able to close on our old and new homes just 1 day apart. I recently got a job in the Sacramento area and starting looking for a home in January 2021. As many know, the housing market was and still is extremely competitive. My employer referred us to the Better Homes & Gardens firm for a real estate agent. Our experience with BH&G was terrible. Every home was accepting offers within 48 hours of being listed. We would send BH&G homes that we liked the very day they were listed and because BH&G took so long to follow up, most homes already accepted an offer. Additionally, we had over 10 offers rejected because BH&G didn’t understand VA terms or how to write up a good offer. After 4 months of working with BH&G, I decided to fire them and find someone else. We found Matt and Shelly through realtor.com and the difference was AMAZING! Matt immediately referred us to a lender that understood VA loans better than anyone and brought our interest rate down by 2/3 percent. Shelly was quick to have us look at homes the moment they hit the market. Additionally, they helped us write up an amazing offer letter which really targeted the heart-strings of sellers. In the worst market for buyers in history, Matt and Shelly helped us get an offer accepted only a week and half after working with them. Additionally, once our offer was accepted, Matt and Shelly gathered all utility information and some contractor info for updates on the home. Even after closing almost two weeks ago, Shelly often texts us to make sure everything with the home is going great! After such a stressful experience, Matt and Shelly have made our relocation to Sacramento extremely comfortable. I couldn’t recommend more highly! You won’t be disappointed!
